Incumbent Gov. Yoshihiro Murai is set to win Sunday's gubernatorial election in Miyagi Prefecture to serve a second four-year term, beating a challenger recommended by the ruling coalition in the central government led by the Democratic Party of Japan, according to Kyodo News projections.
